Hullut hepuloitsijat

Ihanaa kun kevät tulee ja aurinkoiset kelit mahdollistavat ulkoilunkin paremmin!

Tänään kävin koko porukan kanssa Ruotsinkylässä reilun tunnin lenkillä, kaikki saivat vuorollaan juosta vapaana metsän keskellä olevalla pellolla.

Videolle tallentui tällä kertaa Iivarin ja Yosalin hepulointia. Minulle aina päivän pelastus on se kun saa nähdä miten koirat nauttivat vapaana juoksemisesta ja todellakin juoksevat sydämensä kyllyydestä :-)

Ja mikäpä olisikaan parempaa treeniä tulevaa kisakautta varten kun koirien kahdenkeskeinen spurttailu ja leikki? Vuoroin toinen toimii jäniksenä ja toinen jahtaa. Iivariinkin tulee mukavasti liikettä kun Yosal vähän innostaa riehumaan. Yosal taas jaksaisi riehua vaikka tuntitolkulla, se on ihan kauhea Duracell-pupu! :D

Kuonokopista kysytään usein, joten kerrottakoon vielä miksi meillä niitä käytetään.

Yosal ja Iivari leikkivät toisinaan TODELLA rajuja leikkejä, kunnon hammastelua ja pystypainia ja ohimennen niskassa roikkumista. Sivullista saattaisi ihan jopa hirvittää noiden kahden meno.. Kopat ovat siis ihan varmuuden vuoksi niillä etteivät vahingossa oikeasti satuta toisiaan, ja varsinkin kun molemmilla on ohut karva ja nahka niin ikäviä haavoja tulee helposti. Lisäksi Iivari ahmatti syö edelleenkin maasta aivan kaiken minkä irti saa, näin talvisin myös lunta, joten koppa rajoittaa ainakin vähän turhaa mutustelua.

Finally we have some signs of Spring here in Finland! Today it was sunny and warm enough for the dogs to be out without their coats on. So I took the whole pack and we went for a nice walk in the nearby forest and for a bit of off leash running on the field.

For me the best thing is always to see how happy the dogs are when they get to run free, and really run as much as they want! And well, what would be better exercise for the upcoming racing and coursing season than the dogs running and competing freely with each other? Iivari and Yosal are great together, they take turns as the rabbit and the chaser, it's so much fun to watch those two go crazy! And well, speaking of rabbits, Yosal seems to have energy like a Duracell-bunny! :-D

I get many questions about why they have their muzzles on when they run with each other. Basically they are there just in case. Yosal and Iivari tend to play EXTREMELY rough sometimes and so the muzzles prevent them from accidentally hurting each other. Since they both have very thin skin and short fur they easily get nasty cuts. So the muzzles are just for safety. And well, Iivari has to wear a muzzle because he's a bit too eager to eat just about everything he finds on the ground (poop, grass, snow, leaves, sticks, sand etc..). So the muzzle keeps him from doing that, or at least it makes it more difficult for him.
